Having just returned from Europe and being inspired by the jaw-dropping interiors of Portugal’s National Palace of Sintra with its bold colour combinations, intricate patterns, detailed mosaics, opulent mirrors and gorgeous floral motifs, my client had a vision of transforming these bland white walls into a space akin to an unforgettable trip, as well as an elegant and moody space to entertain in. However, a few recent furniture purchases called for some thinking outside the box to blend the two very distinct styles. Motivated by a challenge, I set out to find the perfect wallpaper to tie it all in, and I had no doubt I had finally found the one that ticked all the boxes! Applying part of it also along the other walls, dressed them up without taking the focus off the main feature. Combined with beautiful tiling, hand-picked furniture, the right soft furnishings, and a versatile display of collected artworks, the result is a stunning apartment unlikely to be rivalled. It is so very exciting when clients are open to pushing boundaries to achieve the designer look!
