My client loves to travel but every trip invariably has to end and the thought of going back to daily routine is not exactly exciting! The brief for this project was to create a home that was welcoming and somewhere he would be happy to return to, and that hopefully would still feel like holidays. The large variety of sports he practises was an exciting part of his life’s description and from the very beginning I envisioned an area that would celebrate this side of him, display memories and set the tone of the home as uniquely his. We settled on a mostly Scandinavian feel with a touch of industrial, and the result has a quality of understated masculinity. From the oversized single-tile splashback to the custom robes, dining table, sofa and footstools, this is a home not only fit for purpose but also impossible to forget.
