With a gorgeous long recess not being used to its potential, my clients asked me for a custom cabinet to go from wall to wall to keep the same look as the other rooms in the house. With some challenges such as allowing access to termite-inspection cut-outs on the floor, and locations of powerpoint and Tv points, the result is stunning. A year later they asked me to come back and refurnish the room to complete the picture. The brief was Hamptons with neutral colours only, but client decided they’d like to use an existing red armchair that was not being used in their daughter’s bedroom, and I’m always more than happy to blur the lines of a particular style… why stick to the rules when you can make it your own? My clients’ feedback is they’re no longer retiring to their bedrooms early in the night, as they now enjoy the living space so much! This is why I love what I do.
